1. TYPE OF PAINTING
Each artist has their own technique, style and vision. If you find a particular piece that speaks to you, feel free to send me images so that we can work on something unique together. Although I often paint similar subjects, all of my paintings are one-of-a-kind and will never be a "duplicate" of each other or anyone elses work.
Have an idea of your own? Feel free to send me what you're thinking and we can discuss a one of a kind piece made just for you.
2. SIZE & PRICING
Commission pieces can range from as small as 4x4 and as large as 48x60+
Prices range depending on the size and type (style, medium, etc.) of the painting. Please keep in mind a few things when considering the budget for your custom piece:
Shipping costs are additional. There are often options for pick up or delivery, so please request those options with your inquiry if needed.
Size plays a factor in price - (a larger canvas will require a larger budget)
CHILD PORTRAITS
For portraits, I request a high-quality photograph for reference be emailed to me. (Your cell phone can take pretty awesome pictures - a fancy camera lens isn't always necessary!)
However — Lighting is important - if possible, please send photographs that are taken outside or from well-lit indoor spaces. I try my best to replicate the photo provided - if there are shadows or if there is certain coloring you’d prefer, please be sure to include references so that I can do my best to get a quality painting completed for you.
PRICING: Pricing options very on the size, amount of detail and medium.
+ Portraits on paper start at 5x7” and go up to 16x20”
+ Portraits on canvas start at 5x7” and go up to 36x48”
The most common portrait is the 9x12” pencil portrait.
If you go to the “Shop” tab on my website, you can click through to find what fits your budget.
*adjustments/reworking portraits after completion will require an additional fee as this is equivalent to a “new” portrait*
A few FAQs:
- ”I like this picture of my child’s face, but don’t want this outfit painted. Can we change that?”
Of course! Please include all reference photos in an email and we can discuss how to place everything together in one portrait.
- ”Can I take two separate photos of my children and put them into one portrait?”
As long as the quality of the images is the same, then yes!
- ”What is your turn around time for portraits?”
Portraits are meant to be as exact as possible, so these take time. Once I get started on a portrait (depending on the medium) it takes me 2-3 weeks from start to finish. If you choose to go with just a pencil/graphite portrait, these take about 1 week.
- “I like the overall portrait, but I’d prefer my daughter’s smile in the second photo I provided. Can we combine that into the drawing?”
Yes! There is an additional cost to “reworking” the portrait, but I always want you to be happy with your portrait before shipping it out.
Pet Portraits
As listed above, I request a high-quality photograph for reference be emailed to me.
Pet portraits come with a solid background unless otherwise discussed.
Can't decide which photo you want a painting of? Send me as many as you'd like and I'll help you narrow it down to the best option.
More than one pet can be painted on the same canvas (there will be an additional cost for each animal)
If you would like an alternative to a solid color background, please provide a description or photo reference so that we can accurately estimate the additional cost.
3. TIMELINE
After confirming size and type of commission (style, medium, etc.), your order is put into the official "queue". Depending on the size and amount of paintings "in the queue", my pieces typically take between two to nine weeks.
4. PAYMENT
I require a non-refundable 50% deposit to begin the commission with the final amount due prior to shipment or pick up. (Payment can be made in full up front - it's up to you!)

Shipping costs will be estimated up front based (mainly) off of size.
You also have the option of saving when it comes to shipping. Larger stretched canvas can be tricky to ship, but you have the option of requesting a rolled canvas that you can have stretched locally! Questions about this? Don’t hesitate to ask.
